Buddha Statues from Nepal — Our Complete Gallery

Every Buddha statue in our gallery is handmade in Patan, Nepal — the historic center of Himalayan Buddhist statuary — by descendants of the Shakya family caste, using the traditional lost wax casting method their ancestors developed centuries ago. Each piece begins as a hand-sculpted wax model, is cast in copper, and is then finished entirely by hand: some fully fire gilded in 24K gold, some partly gilded with hand-painted faces, and others given an antiqued, oxidized copper or silver-plated finish. This is the same standard of craftsmanship that has made Nepali artisans the preferred source of statues and ritual items for Tibetan monasteries for generations, and every statue we sell is of genuine monastic quality. Alongside our statuary, the gallery also includes hand-painted thangkas and consecrated ritual items for altar and daily practice.
