Vajradhara Statues | Lord of All Tantric Lineages — Handmade in Nepal

Explore our collection of authentic Vajradhara statues, handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by master Newar artisans using the traditional lost wax sculpting method. Each statue is created from hand carved crystal, cast in fine copper alloy and fully finished with 24K gold fire gilding and/or antiquated copper and hand-painted facial details.

Vajradhara (Tib: Dorje Chang, “Vajra-holder”) is the primordial Buddha — the Dharmakaya Buddha who embodies the ultimate nature of mind itself, prior to all form and concept. He is the source of all Tantric transmission in the Kagyu and Sakya schools of Tibetan Buddhism: every lineage of Tantric teaching in these traditions traces its origin directly back to Vajradhara, making him the supreme root of all Tantric realization.

He is depicted holding a vajra in his right hand and a bell (ghanta) in his left, arms crossed at the chest in the Vajrahumkara mudra — the gesture of the inseparable union of great bliss and emptiness. Our Vajradhara statues primarily feature a 24K gold gilded finish, reflecting the purity and luminosity of the Dharmakaya itself.

In the Kagyu tradition, the root guru is understood to be inseparable from Vajradhara — making a Vajradhara statue an object of profound devotional significance for any practitioner of Mahamudra or Tantric Buddhism.
