Kapala Set

The kapala is also known as a “skull cup” which has long been used in Vajrayana and Tantric Hindu rituals. The kapala set is used to hold blood or ritual red wine can serve as a substitute. Additionally, each kapala set is made to resemble the top part of the human cranium which is shaped like an oval. Our beautiful kapala sets are hand crafted from precious metals and hand sculpted with intricate engravings. They are placed on the altar and used to make offerings to the fierce tantric deities (Dharmapala). Additionally, during Tibetan Buddhist rituals the blood or red wine is blessed by the guru. Afterwards it is consumed by the lama and members of his Heart Family as part of a Vajrayana empowerment ceremony.
