This magnificent 14-inch Silver Moon Cintachakra Statue presents White Tara, or Dolkar, in an unusually luminous combination of a silver-toned body and 24K gold gilded ornamentation. Handcrafted in Patan, Nepal, by skilled Newar artisans, the sculpture is cast from copper alloy using the traditional lost wax method. The cool silver-toned body creates a striking contrast with the warm gold of her crown, jewelry, garments, and lotus throne, visually evoking White Tara’s traditional association with the radiance of a thousand moons. She is one of the three principal long-life deities of Tibetan Buddhism, together with Amitayus and Namgyalma. Silver Moon Cintachakra Statue and the Seven Eyes

Cintachakra’s most distinctive iconographic attribute is her seven eyes of compassionate awareness. In addition to her two natural eyes, a vertical wisdom eye appears prominently upon her forehead, while additional eyes appear in the palms of her hands and soles of her feet. The open eye within her lowered right palm is especially prominent in this sculpture, as is the eye within her raised left hand. White Tara sits serenely in the full lotus posture, distinguishing her immediately from Green Tara’s characteristic posture with one leg extended. Her right hand opens in Varada mudra, the gesture of generosity and compassionate giving, while her raised left hand delicately holds the stem of an utpala lotus. The stem rises in sweeping curves beside her shoulder to an unopened blossom, reinforcing the elegant vertical composition of the sculpture.

Silver, Gold and Gemstone Craftsmanship

The contrast between precious-metal finishes is one of this statue’s defining artistic features. Tara’s silver-toned body provides a quiet luminous field against the richly gilded ornaments surrounding it. An elaborate five-pointed Bodhisattva crown rises above her dark hair, while layered necklaces, earrings, armbands, bracelets, anklets, and a long ornamental sash are highlighted in gold. The crown and jewelry contain numerous carefully prepared settings that can be embellished with genuine turquoise and red coral gemstones at the buyer’s request. This optional customization can be completed by our artisans before shipment, adding traditional Himalayan color to the restrained silver-and-gold composition.

Particular attention has been devoted to the dhoti. Dense hand-engraved scrolling patterns cover both legs, while the reverse reveals an exceptionally elaborate arrangement of engraved textile motifs, beaded borders, suspended ornaments, and finely detailed decorative settings. Beneath Tara, the broad lotus throne is equally substantial, combining raised lotus-petal carvings with fine ornamental borders. This degree of finishing on both the front and reverse makes the sculpture especially rewarding when displayed where it can be viewed from multiple angles.
