This handcrafted set of Tibetan offering bowls is traditionally used for daily shrine offerings in Tibetan Buddhist practice. Handmade in Patan, Nepal from copper alloy, each bowl features a rich oxidized finish complemented by elegant 24K gold detailing around the rim and finely engraved auspicious motifs. Their generous 3.5-inch width makes them well suited to home shrines, Dharma centers and temple altars while preserving the refined appearance of traditional Himalayan ritual implements.

Although seven bowls are commonly arranged before a sacred image, many practitioners also use a complete set of eight bowls filled with fresh water. These offerings may be visualized as drinking water, bathing water, flowers, incense, light, perfume and food, with the additional bowl incorporated according to personal or lineage practice. Water is often chosen because it can be offered freely and without attachment, helping practitioners cultivate generosity, gratitude and merit through a simple daily ritual.

Handcrafted Tibetan Offering Bowls Set from Nepal

Each bowl is individually handcrafted by experienced Newar artisans whose metalworking traditions have been preserved for generations in the Kathmandu Valley. The photographs show delicate engraved motifs arranged within circular medallions, surrounded by fine floral scrollwork and highlighted with 24K gold details against the warm oxidized copper surface. A polished gold rim completes each bowl and creates a restrained contrast with the darker body.

The rounded form and flared rim allow the bowls to sit neatly in a straight altar arrangement, while their matching proportions create visual harmony across the shrine. When not in use, the bowls can also be nested together for convenient storage.

Traditional Buddhist Altar Practice

Placed before a Buddha, Bodhisattva or meditation deity, these Tibetan offering bowls serve as a daily reminder to give with sincerity and without expectation of reward. The bowls are typically cleaned, filled carefully and arranged with mindfulness as part of morning shrine practice, then emptied respectfully at the end of the day.

Complete Your Buddhist Shrine

These bowls pair naturally with our collection of Tibetan ritual items, including butter lamps, incense burners, bells and vajras. They also complement our handmade Buddha statues, helping create a complete altar arrangement rooted in traditional Himalayan Buddhist practice.
