The two principal attributes of this Wisdom Bodhisattva Sculpture communicate Manjushri’s role immediately. His raised right hand wields the Sword of Wisdom, held dramatically above his shoulder. Rather than representing physical violence, the sword cuts through ignorance and delusion, separating clear understanding from confusion. His left hand forms a graceful teaching gesture while supporting the stem of a lotus beside his shoulder. Upon the blossom rests the Prajnaparamita Sutra, the sacred Perfection of Wisdom scripture.
