Our 12″ partly 24K gold gilded Tibetan Chenrezig statue was handmade in Patan, Nepal by our Shakya craftsman using the traditional lost wax casting method. As a result, Nepali statues and ritual items are the preferred source of the Tibetan monasteries. Additionally, the face of Tibetan Chenrezig is hand face painted with real gold in excellent detail which creates a life like expression. When you purchase our Tibetan Chenrezig statue rest assured it is a monastic quality statue that will last for many lifetimes.

Furthermore, the sculptor created the statue with the crown and jewels of a bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer we would be happy to embellish the crown and jewels with turquoise and coral stones. These colors are symbolic in Buddhism and Chenrezig will wear them well.

Special Meaning of Tibetan Chenrezig Statue

As Buddhist beliefs spread throughout East Asia, certain adaptations were made to suit different cultures. As a result, the identity of Avalokiteshvara was modified when Buddhism arrived in Tibet. The result was a bodhisattva known as Chenrezig.

Our sculpture features four arms. The four arms of this Chenrezig statue represent the four immeasurables — compassion, loving kindness, equanimity, and joy — read more about Chenrezig’s iconography in Tibetan Buddhism. The two upper arms hold a lotus flower and the 108 mala beads. Additionally, the lower arms press the cintamani “wish fulfilling” jewel in front of his chest. This special jewel is believed by both Hindus and Buddhist to grant wishes. Therefore, this is a special symbol and it is highly auspicious to have your own Tibetan Chenrezig statue depicted holding cintamani jewel.
