This handcrafted white metal mandala set measures 10.25 inches when fully assembled and combines bright white metal surfaces with warm copper alloy borders. Handmade by skilled artisans in Patan, Nepal, the set includes the Vajra Bhumi base plate, three graduated upper rings, and a removable Dharma Wheel finial. The photographs show finely carved floral scrollwork covering the exterior walls of every tier, with symbolic motifs enclosed within decorative cartouches. Repeating copper meander borders frame the upper and lower edges, creating a distinctive two-tone appearance while clearly defining each level of the assembled mandala. The teardrop-shaped finial features engraved foliage, an openwork Dharma Wheel, a beaded outer border, and a colored central accent. Each component is individually shaped, fitted, engraved, and finished by hand. The Vajra Bhumi and graduated rings display dense floral patterns, scrolling vines, lotus-inspired ornamentation, and repeating symbolic designs. Their white metal outer walls are bordered by copper alloy bands engraved with a continuous geometric pattern. These contrasting borders are also visible around the finial base, visually connecting the upper ornament with the rings below. The smooth inner surfaces allow the tiers to be filled with rice or grain, while the graduated diameters create the traditional stepped representation of the Buddhist cosmos. Traditional Tibetan Mandala Offering Practice

A physical mandala offering symbolizes presenting the entire universe to the guru, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the Three Jewels. Begin by holding the Vajra Bhumi in the left hand and wiping its surface clockwise three times with the right forearm while visualizing the removal of mental obscurations. Sprinkle a small amount of grain onto the purified base and position the largest ring upon it. Fill the first tier while forming heaps in the four cardinal directions and visualizing the continents and surrounding world system.

Place the second ring and add grain while imagining precious possessions, worldly abundance, and everything considered desirable. Continue with the third and fourth tiers while visualizing the sun, moon, celestial realms, and the vastness of the cosmos. Crown the completed white metal mandala set with its Dharma Wheel finial, lift it with both hands, and respectfully touch the ornament to the forehead. The mandala may then be raised above the head while reciting the traditional offering prayer, including Idam Guru Ratna Mandalakam Niryatayami.

Completing the Mandala Offering

After completing the visualization and dedication, lower the mandala carefully and tip the rings inward toward the body so the grain collapses toward you, symbolically receiving the merit and blessings of the practice. The components can then be wiped with a soft dry cloth and nested together for convenient storage.
