This Handmade Mandala Offering Set is handcrafted by skilled Newar artisans in Patan, Nepal, using traditional Himalayan metalworking techniques. Standing 10.5 inches tall when fully assembled, this authentic ritual implement features a hand-carved white metal Vajra Bhumi (mandala base plate), four graduated white metal offering rings, and a matching Dharma Wheel finial. As verified in the photographs, every component is richly decorated with continuous floral scrollwork and traditional Himalayan motifs, while engraved brass bands frame the upper and lower edge of each ring, creating a beautiful contrast against the polished white metal. The removable Dharma Wheel finial is equally hand carved with floral engravings, an openwork Dharma Wheel, and a decorative colored center. This traditional Handmade Mandala Offering Set complements our Buddha Statues, Tibetan Thangkas, and Tibetan Butter Lamps to create a complete Himalayan Buddhist shrine.

Handmade Mandala Offering Set for Authentic Buddhist Practice

Every element of this Handmade Mandala Offering Set is individually shaped, engraved, polished, and assembled by hand. The wide Vajra Bhumi provides a stable foundation for the four graduated offering rings, each decorated with finely carved floral vines, lotus blossoms, and traditional auspicious scrollwork that extends around the entire circumference. Brass borders engraved with geometric key-fret patterns accent both the upper and lower edge of every ring, while the smooth interior surfaces are designed to hold rice or other offering grains during mandala practice. The elegant Dharma Wheel finial rises from a tiered pedestal and represents the Buddha’s teachings, completing the symbolic offering of the universe.

Traditional Mandala Offering Practice

Begin by holding the Vajra Bhumi in your left hand while keeping your right hand free. Rub the base clockwise three times with your right forearm to symbolize the purification of obscurations. Sprinkle a small amount of rice onto the cleaned base before placing the largest ring into position. Fill the first level while visualizing the four continents of the Buddhist universe. Continue by placing each smaller ring in succession, adding rice while visualizing all worldly wealth, prosperity, enjoyment, the sun, moon, celestial realms, and finally the entire universe. Complete the offering by placing the Dharma Wheel finial securely upon the uppermost mound of rice.

Lift the completed Handmade Mandala Offering Set with both hands, touch it respectfully to your forehead, then raise it above your head while reciting the traditional mandala offering prayer, including Idam Guru Ratna Mandalakam Niryatayami. After dedicating the accumulated merit for the benefit of all sentient beings, gently tip the rings inward toward yourself so the grains collapse into the center, symbolizing the return of blessings and merit. Suitable for daily Ngöndro accumulations, monastery use, meditation retreats, or permanent Buddhist altar displays, this handcrafted mandala offering set faithfully preserves one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most profound devotional practices.
