Our lovely White Tara statue is seated in the full lotus pose, also known as the “vajra” or thunderbolt position. Her complexion emanates with the glow of a thousand white moons. Additionally, her right hand lies across her right knee in the mudra of supreme generosity. In her left hand between the thumb and index finger she holds the stem of the uptala flower near her heart, while the flower blossoms over her left shoulder.

The Nepali artisan created this beautiful White Tara statue with the crown and jewels of a bodhisattva. At the buyer’s request we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels with turquoise and red coral stones. At no extra charge, we can embellish the statue before delivery.

7 Eyed White Tara Statue

White Tara’s rich symbolism is fortified with her 7 eyes. There are 3 eyes on her face including the eye in the middle of her forehead enabling her to see the ultimate reality. Plus, there is also a single eye on the palms of her hands and the soles of her feet. Therefore, all of her actions are governed by the ultimate compassion and wisdom.

White Tara is one of the three Tibetan long life deities along with Amitayus and Namgyalma. White Tara’s mantra is recited specifically for longevity, healing, and the removal of obstacles to well being — explore the White Tara mantra and its meaning.

The Tara bodhisattva is also believed to be the first advocate for feminism. As a result of Buddhism moving eastward it was thought that the religion should be more inclusive. Therefore, Tara became compassionate about obtaining enlightenment as a female since there were so few female Buddhas. Additionally, she vowed to continue as a female bodhisattva until she became a female Buddha.
