This exquisite 8.5-inch Arya Tara Statue portrays Jetsun Dolma, the beloved female Buddha of swift compassion and one of the most widely practiced deities in Tibetan Buddhism. Arya Tara Statue Iconography and Symbolism
Green Tara is portrayed in lalitasana, the posture of royal ease. Her left leg remains folded in meditative repose while her right leg extends gracefully downward from the lotus seat. This distinctive posture expresses one of Tara’s defining qualities: although established in enlightened awareness, she remains ready to rise immediately and assist sentient beings. Her open right hand extends across her knee in Varada mudra, the gesture of generosity and the granting of blessings. Her raised left hand forms Tara’s characteristic gesture of protection and fearlessness while delicately holding the stem of a lotus.
