This Handmade Tibetan mandala set measures 10 inches when fully assembled and was created by skilled metal artisans in Patan, Nepal. The complete ritual set includes the Vajra Bhumi base plate, three graduated upper rings, and a removable Dharma Wheel finial. Authentic gold and silver plating creates a luminous two-tone finish across the carved surfaces featuring Tibetan auspicious symbols, while red coral, turquoise gemstone accents enrich the central ornament. As verified in the photographs, detailed floral scrollwork with hand carved Tibetan auspicious symbols extend around the outer walls of the base and every offering ring. Raised gold-plated borders frame the silver-plated decorative fields, and repeating beaded and petal-shaped patterns provide additional definition along the upper and lower edges. This traditional offering set may be displayed with our Buddha statues, Tibetan thangkas, and Tibetan butter lamps when creating a complete Vajrayana Buddhist shrine.

Handmade Tibetan Mandala Set with Gold and Silver Plating

Each component is individually formed, carved, plated, fitted, and finished by hand. The floral ornamentation continues around the complete circumference of the Vajra Bhumi and graduated rings, creating a richly detailed surface from every viewing angle. Gold-plated medallions and borders contrast with the silver-plated floral fields, while the smooth inner walls allow rice or other offering grains to be placed and removed during practice. The teardrop-shaped finial features matching floral decoration, a central Dharma Wheel, openwork detailing, and colored red coral and turquoise accents. Its tiered pedestal combines lotus-inspired forms with alternating gold and silver finishes, visually connecting the upper ornament with the rings below.

Preparing the Traditional Mandala Offering

Begin by holding the Vajra Bhumi in the left hand while keeping the right hand free. Rub the base clockwise three times with the right forearm while visualizing the purification of mental obscurations. Sprinkle a small amount of rice or grain onto the cleaned surface, then position the largest ring flat upon the base. Fill the first tier while forming heaps in the four cardinal directions and visualizing the continents of the Buddhist cosmos.

Place the second ring and add grain while imagining precious objects, worldly abundance, and everything considered desirable. Continue with the third and fourth rings while visualizing the sun, moon, celestial realms, and the vastness of the universe. Position the Dharma Wheel finial firmly upon the uppermost heap to complete the symbolic cosmos. Lift the assembled Handmade Tibetan mandala set with both hands, touch the top respectfully to the forehead, and raise it above the head while finalizing the visualization.

Reciting and Completing the Offering

While holding the mandala aloft, recite the traditional offering prayer, including Idam Guru Ratna Mandalakam Niryatayami, and mentally offer the entire universe to the guru, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the Three Jewels. After dedicating the merit for the benefit of all beings, lower the mandala and tip the rings inward toward the chest so the grains collapse toward you, symbolizing the reception of merit and blessings. The components may then be wiped carefully with a soft dry cloth and nested together for storage. This Handmade Tibetan mandala set is suitable for daily preliminary practice, retreats, Dharma centers, monasteries, or formal Buddhist altar display.
