This Masterpiece White Tara statue is finished in a silvery tone ー created by an authentic silver infused finish — her body glowing with the ambiance of a thousand moons, set against the warm fire gilded 24K gold of her crown, jewelry, robes, and throne. Her crown and jewelry are hand carved with intricate precision and adorned with turquoise and red coral stones: a tall five-pointed crown over her dark gathered topknot, layered necklaces draping across the chest, armbands, bracelets, and anklets, each set with colored stones. The result is a statue that imbues its surroundings with a sense of calm and reflection.

The color turquoise is a special combination of blue and green — blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas, and green symbolizes their readiness to act. Our White Tara wears these colors beautifully and will inspire all who lay eyes on her. Her robes, jewelry, and crown are fire gilded with 24K gold, leaving a tarnish-free finish similar to the statues found in the Tibetan monasteries.

Beautiful White Tara Statue Features

Our White Tara is fully adorned in the elegance of the Bodhisattva crown and jewels, her dark hair gathering into a topknot behind the crown, capped with a stone-set gold finial. She displays the three neck lines and sits in full lotus pose — the posture distinguishing White Tara from Green Tara, who sits with one leg extended — on a single lotus pedestal ringed with gracefully scalloped petals between engraved bands. Her right hand rests open on her knee in the Varada, or gift-giving, mudra, while her left hand holds the carved stem of an utpala lotus that rises to blossom beside her shoulder.

Her most unique feature is her seven eyes — White Tara is also called the “Seven-Eyed” for their mystical nature. Beyond the two eyes of her serene face, a third stands upright on her forehead, one gazes from each palm — clearly visible in the open palm of her Varada mudra — and one from the sole of each foot. Each eye is placed so that all her thoughts and actions are governed by insight wisdom and virtue, her compassionate awareness extending in every direction — learn more about the meaning behind her seven eyes. White Tara is also one of the three Tibetan long life deities, strongly affiliated with longevity, healing, serenity, and compassion — read about her role alongside Amitayus and Namgyalma in our guide to the long life deities.

The lotus flower blossoming beside her shoulder is another elegant and feminine element of our White Tara statue — but it is not merely a beautiful adornment. The lotus is deeply significant in Buddhism, representing the rewards of Nirvana that await devotees who remain true to their Dharma practice.
