Our Nepali master artisans created this beautiful crowned Amitabha Buddha statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. Unlike a robed depiction, this statue presents Amitabha bare-chested, adorned only in ornamentation: a swirling cloud-shaped pectoral piece at the center of the chest, a beaded apron-style necklace draping toward the waist, wide armbands, and matching wristlets — a Sambhogakaya presentation that emphasizes his celestial, radiant form. The five-pointed crown rises to a tall central spire, flanked by fan-shaped ornaments at ear level. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to further adorn the crown and jewels with turquoise or red stones, at no extra charge, before delivery.

Sukhavati, the celestial Pure Land, is the home of Amitabha. As the Bodhisattva Dharmakara, Amitabha was once a great king who renounced his throne and all material wealth to pursue the life of a wandering renunciant, motivated by compassion for all suffering beings. Across many thousands of lifetimes as a Bodhisattva, he accumulated an infinite amount of merit and ultimately fulfilled his vow to attain his own pure land.
Sukhavati is built upon this foundation of accumulated merit and infinite light. The light that shines forth from Sukhavati is said to have the power to remove the defilements and temptations of sentient beings — so powerful that Amitabha is known as the Buddha of Immeasurable Light and Life. This crowned Amitabha Buddha statue can serve as an inspirational focus for devotees striving toward a favorable rebirth. Common questions about Amitabha and Sukhavati are answered in our Frequently Asked Questions About Amitabha Buddha.
