Our Nepali master artisan created our beautiful Green Tara statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of this Green Tara statue with turquoise and red stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue with special decoration before delivery.

The color turquoise is a special combination of blue and green. Indeed, blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas and green symbolizes her readiness to act. She wears it well and will inspire all those who lay their eyes on her statue.

Green Tara Statue Features

Our Green Tara statue sits majestically in open pose on her single lotus pedestal. The classic pose is half in meditative contemplation to reflect her deep understanding of the emptiness phenomenon. However, the other leg is partly extended. This is because she is always ready to spring to the assistance of sentient life. The color green is representative of the Spring Equinox and quick action. Indeed, Tara is always encouraging devotees to break free of dogmatism and accept new forms of knowledge.

The master sculptor who completed the statue took special care with the two lotus flowers growing over her shoulders. The flowers are in the process of blossoming to entice devotees to reach for the rewards of Nirvana. Additionally, she is holding the stems of the flowers gently between the thumb and index finger of each hand.

Her left hand is depicting the Abhaya mudra known as the mudra of “protection or fearlessness”. This is to encourage devotees to be fearless in pursuing their Dharma practice.

Green Tara’s right hand is resting on her right knee depicting the Varada mudra. This mudra is known as the gift giving mudra. As a result, it reflects the generous nature of Green Tara as she is always ready to spring to the assistance of sentient life.
