Our Nepali artisan created this 9.25″ Vajrapani statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of your new statue with turquoise and red coral stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue with these special decorations before delivery.

The color of the embedded stones carry special meaning to Tibetan Buddhists. For example, the color red pays tribute to Amitabha Buddha. In addition, Tibetan Buddhists believe that meditation on the color red will transmute the poison of attachment into the wisdom of discernment.

Furthermore, the blue lotus flower is considered by Buddhists to be a symbol of supreme enlightenment. The color turquoise is a special combination of both blue and green. Thus, blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas and green symbolizes readiness to act.

Wrathful Vajrapani Statue Symbolism

In his right hand, Vajrapani wields the vajra. The “vajra” is a Sanskrit word that has the dual meaning of diamond and also thunderbolt. It symbolizes the power of virtue to eliminate all negativity and remove all obstacles from the spiritual realization of devotees. Plus, the vajra is the symbol for the masculine attribute of skillful means. Our statue also depicts the flames of pristine awareness that burn around Vajrapani.

In addition, Vajrapani wears a crown adorned with five skulls. These skulls carry the dual representation of the five aggregates and also the five poisons. The five poisons are anger, greed, delusion, pride and jealousy. The five skulls on Vajrapani’s crown represent the transformation of the five poisons into the five wisdoms — explore the meaning behind Vajrapani’s wrathful form.

Furthermore, the five aggregates are material form, feeling, perception, mind formations and consciousness which have been pacified and subdued. This is represented by their depiction in skull like form on the crown of wrathful Vajrapani. Vajrapani is also portrayed with the 3 eyes that represent knowledge of the past, present and future.
