Tibetan Dorje Sempa Statue Special Meaning

Tibetan Dorje Sempa statues are strongly associated with karma purification rituals and the Vajrasattva mantra. While advancing as a Bodhisattva, Vajrasattva made very compassionate vows. For example, he said he would abstain from receiving awakening until all those who recite his mantra or hear his name are forgiven for all transgressions. This includes everyone, even those who violated their samaya vows or even committed one of the “5 acts with immediate retribution”.

Vajrasattva is also the “sambhogakaya” embodiment of Vajradhara – the Primordial Buddha. Additionally, he holds the two symbols for enlightenment in his hands. The ghanta bell in his left hand resting on his lap, symbolizes the feminine attribute of wisdom. His right hand holds the vajra which is the symbol for compassion. It is the eternal union of these two virtues that creates Nirvana. Click here to learn more about Vajrasattva.
