This unique portrayal of a Shakyamuni Buddha illuminates him in bright colors with 24k gold gilding. Additionally, our multicolored Shakyamuni statue is depicting the Bhumisparsha “earth touching” mudra. As he was on the verge of enlightenment under the bodhi tree, the Buddha, used this mudra to call the Earth Goddess to witness his vanquishment of the demon Mara. It was the most important moment that established Buddhism in our time.
The second mudra depicted by our Shakyamuni Buddha statue is the Dhyana “meditation” mudra. Additionally, he is holding the alms bowl in the palm of the hand. This is a very important symbol because the bowl contains the three nectars of wisdom, compassion and generosity. As a result, the three poisons of greed, hatred and ignorance are eliminated.
Multicolored Shakyamuni Statue Features:
Additional symbols included with the statue are the ushnisha topknot, three neck lines and the third eye of wisdom. Also, there is a Dharma Wheel, vajra and two deer depicted on the rear base of the statue. The two deer sit beside the Dharma wheel which symbolizes the first sermon of the Buddha when he set the Dharma wheel in motion.
This multicolored Shakyamuni statue was handmade using the traditional lost wax method. As a result, the buyer can rest assured they have procured a monastic quality statue.
