This 14.25″ Green Tara statue is partly fire gilded in 24K gold — the crown, jewels, throne detailing, and ornamental highlights bonded in gold against an oxidized copper body — handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by master Newar artisans using the traditional lost wax sculpting method, with fine hand-carved detail and a face painted with characteristic precision. At the buyer’s request, the crown and jewels can be embellished with turquoise and red coral stones at no extra charge before shipping.
The depth of Green Tara’s presence in Tibetan Buddhism owes much to a single historical figure: Atisha (982–1054 CE), the great Indian Buddhist master who came to Tibet in 1042 CE at the invitation of the Tibetan king Jangchub Ö. Atisha was famously devoted to Green Tara throughout his life — he received visions of her at critical junctures, including guidance that led him to accept the invitation to Tibet despite warnings from his teachers that the journey would shorten his life. He went anyway, guided by Tara. The practice lineages he transmitted to Tibet — which eventually became the Kadampa school and influenced all subsequent Tibetan Buddhist schools — carried Green Tara devotion at their heart. It is largely through Atisha’s legacy that Green Tara became as universally practiced in Tibet as she remains today. Have questions? Nepali Green Tara Statue Features
Green Tara is depicted in lalitasana — royal ease posture — seated with her left leg folded and her right leg partially extended, always poised to respond. Her right hand displays the Varada mudra — the gift-giving gesture, palm open toward devotees — and her left hand holds the stem of the utpala lotus near the shoulder. The face is hand-painted with the characteristic serene alertness of an enlightened being fully present to the needs of those who invoke her — the third eye of wisdom (urna) visible between the brows, the mark of a being who perceives the nature of reality directly. She is always ready to relieve the suffering of sentient life, as her partially extended right leg makes visible.
Authentic, Handmade in Nepal
Every statue and ritual item is handcrafted in Patan, Nepal, using traditional lost wax casting and comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Nepal's Department of Archaeology, verifying its materials, technique, and origin.

I was a little bit hesitant purchasing such an expensive statue online.. but I received my Green Tara packaged so well! protected! and in really good timing! the whole process of payment was a little headache for me.. I don’t do well with internet and electronics in general, so I would love, for the sake of the seller especially, to see a more simpler payment option put in to place. I had to email Edwin a few times for help on how to pay, and I just think so save his own time and energy more thorough instructions could be helpful for all. Besides that.. he was extremely kind and patient with me as I figured everything out. My statue is absolutely gorgeous and I honestly couldn’t be happier. I would hands down purchase again from Edwin. thanks Edwin again for the care you take with these statues, for your kindness and patience!
