The Story of Yamantaka
This Yamantaka sculpture portrays the wrathful embodiment of Manjushri – “Bodhisattva of Wisdom”. Yamantaka is the “Conqueror of Death” because he has transcended the cycle of rebirth. Additionally, he defeated Yama – the “God of Death” and keeper of the hell realms.
To defeat the god of death, Yamantaka appeared with the head of a bull and eight other ferocious faces. He also has 32 hands holding sharp weapons and 16 legs that trample on the corpses of negativity. Our Yamantaka sculpture stands within the flames of pristine awareness that consume all neurotic mental states. Click here to learn more about Yamantaka.
