Our Nepali artisan created our beautiful Padmapani statue with the jewelry and crown of a bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of the statue with turquoise or red stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue with these special decorations before delivery.
Padmapani Statue Special Features:
Our handmade Padmapani statue is depicted with 4 arms. In front of his chest, he has 2 hands pressed together holding the “cintamani” wish fulfilling jewel. Additionally, in his upper right hand he is holding the mala beads between his thumb and index finger. This is because Chenrezig is constantly reciting his mantra to relieve the suffering of sentient life.
Padmapani is a Sanskrit term for Avalokiteshvara that carries the meaning – “lotus holder”. Therefore, in his upper left hand he holds the stem of a blossoming lotus flower. This is because in the natural environment the lotus flower rises above the murky pond to blossom above the surface in the clean air and sunshine. Metaphorically, this is the equivalent to a devotee rising above the “sea of samsara” to achieve enlightenment.
This handmade Padmapani statue sits in full lotus pose on a double lotus pedestal. Additional features include the crown and jewels of the bodhisattva. Also, Padmapani is depicted with the third eye of wisdom between his brows. This symbol indicates Padmapani is a high level bodhisattva and has the ability to see into a divine world. Edwin was excellent in keeping me aware of the order and consecration process. The statue looks better than the photos and is perfect.
Great Job.
