Our Nepali master artisan created this beautiful Tibetan Manjushri statue with the crown and jewels of a Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of the statue with turquoise and red stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue before delivery.
The sculpture was created using the traditional lost wax sculpting method. As a result, there are fine detailed engravings covering the robe and pedestal. For many centuries the Nepali artisans have been the preferred choice of the Tibetan monasteries for their handmade statues and ritual items. When you purchase this Tibetan Manjushri statue you can rest assured that it is a monastic quality sculpture.
Attributes of our Nepali Jampelyang Statue
Manjushri is also known as the “Bodhisattva of Perfected Wisdom”. Inside the lotus blossom growing over his left shoulder rests the Book of “Perfected Wisdom” which is a collection of the Prajnaparamita Sutras. These sutras are where Manjushri originated in the Buddhist texts. Indeed, Manjushri is one of the oldest and most venerable Bodhisattvas in the Buddhist pantheon.
Our Tibetan Manjushri statue features the youthfulness that is commonly associated with him. However, this does not indicate that he is merely a youth. Instead it is believed that an enlightened being will see the world from a refreshed perspective. Therefore, one who obtains insight knowledge will see the world anew and be reborn. The youthful features and association with wisdom make Manjushri statues a popular selection among students. Click here to learn more about the special attributes of the Bodhisattva of Wisdom.
