Our Nepali Manjushri sculpture depicts one of the most venerable Bodhisattvas. The origin of Manjushri emerged from the book of “Perfected Wisdom”, known as the Prajnaparamita Sutra. The Book of Perfected Wisdom is the authority on wisdom for Mahayana Buddhists. Additionally, this venerable Buddhist text took over seven centuries to write. Indeed, our Nepali Manjushri sculpture is a masterpiece depicting an embodiment of transcendental wisdom.

The master artisan created this beautiful Manjushri sculpture with a Bodhisattva crown and jewelry. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of this statue with turquoise and red stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue with these special decorations before delivery.

Nepali Manjushri Sculpture Features

Manjushri is in classic pose wielding the sword of perfected wisdom over his right shoulder. However, the flaming sword is not encouraging an act of brute force. The objective is the annihilation of ignorance using intricate means. Manjushri encourages a gentle victory using tact and poise to overcome the darkness with light.

Additionally, Manjushri has a lotus flower growing over his left shoulder. His left hand is depicting the Abhaya mudra which is also known as the mudra of protection and fearlessness. Devotees who embrace wisdom have nothing to fear. Furthermore, there is a copy of the Prajnaparamita Sutra resting on the lotus blossom.

Manjushri is the proprietor of the much sought after eastern pure land known as Vimala. Soon, it will become one of the most beautiful of pure lands rivaling only Amitabha’s Sukhavati. This special day for Manjushri will come after he fulfills his vow to become a fully fledged Buddha. Click here to learn more about Manjushri.
