This 12″ Jetsun Dolma statue is fully fire gilded in 24K gold — the entire figure bonded in real gold using the traditional fire gilding method, producing the warm deep luster that holds indefinitely without tarnishing. The Bodhisattva crown and jewels are hand-carved with intricate precision. At the buyer’s request, the crown and jewels can be additionally embellished with turquoise and red coral stones at no extra charge — submit the preference before shipping. The face is hand-painted. The statue was handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by master Newar artisans using the traditional lost wax sculpting method.
Green Tara’s mantra — Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha — is one of the most widely recited mantras in all of Himalayan Buddhism, and each of its core syllables carries specific meaning. Tare invokes her as the liberator from samsara — she who frees beings from the ordinary cycle of suffering and rebirth. Tuttare invokes her protective function specifically — her protection from the Eight Fears and the external dangers that obstruct spiritual practice. Ture invokes her as the swift one — the aspect of her that eliminates suffering, disease, and inner obstacles with immediate effect. Svaha seals the mantra, establishing and taking root in the mind of the practitioner. Taken together the mantra addresses the three dimensions of liberation that Green Tara embodies: freedom from samsara, protection in the world, and the swift removal of obstacles. Jetsun Dolma Statue Features
Jetsun Dolma is depicted in lalitasana — royal ease posture — with her right leg partially extended, poised for immediate response. Her right hand displays the Varada mudra (gift-giving, palm open toward devotees) and her left hand holds the utpala lotus stem near the shoulder. The two lotus flowers that blossom over her shoulders carry a specific paired symbolism in this form: the unopened lotus bud over her left shoulder represents the enlightenment that awaits devotees who practice diligently — the potential already present, waiting to bloom. The fully open lotus over her right shoulder represents the immediate reward of present-moment practice — liberation accessible now, not only at some future culmination.
