Our Vajrakilaya statue is a sculpture of the most potent wrathful yidam deity. By means of dedicated Vajrakilaya practice, devotees can remove all obstacles to their spiritual realization. Additionally, Vajrakilaya practice was central to the teachings of the tantric master, Guru Rinpoche. The tantric master used Vajrakilaya as his personal yidam and he also taught the benefits of Vajrakilaya practice to his disciples. As a result, Vajrakilaya practice has since been adopted by the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism.

Vajrakilaya Statue Features

This Vajrakilaya statue has 3 heads, 6 arms and 4 legs. Plus, he is seen in union with his consort Khorlo Gyedunma. The central aspect of the statue is his two main hands wrapped around the consort’s waist. Between these two hands he is holding the magical phurba dagger with 3 blades and magical tip. Each blade of the phurba dagger eliminates one of the three primary hindrances to spiritual realization. These three hindrances being hatred, sensuous desire and ignorance. Additionally, the three point tip of the phurba dagger symbolizes the point of unhindered concentration which is focused on the great emptiness phenomenon.

Both Vajrakilaya and his consort are standing within a ring of fire representing the flames of pristine awareness. Additionally, his consort holds the kapala skull cup filled with the blood of the 4 maras. Both Vajrakilaya and his consort wear crowns adorned with 5 human skulls. These 5 skulls represent the death of the five skandhas and their transformation into the five wisdoms. Our Vajrakilaya statue features both a removable frame and removable consort.
