Our Nepali artisan used the traditional lost wax method for creation of this Buddhist sculpture art. The lost wax method is best for producing fine statue detail and form. As a result, the Nepali artisans have long been the preferred source of the Tibetan monasteries for their sculptures. When you purchase our Chuchepa Mahakala sculpture, rest assured you have procured a monastic quality sculpture.
Chuchepa Mahakala Sculpture Features:
Four armed Mahakala sits on a human corpse that symbolizes the death of all negativity. All negative thoughts has been uprooted, therefore they can never return.
In his lower right hand he holds the kartika flaying knife which severs the hindrances of hatred, greed and ignorance. In his lower left hand he holds the kapala skull cup filled with blood and brain matter. However, it seems unimaginable that a Buddhist deity would consume something so vile. Nonetheless, this is libation vessel that is a common feature of Mahakala statues and also a ritual gift given to Dharmapala deities.
Furthermore in his upper left hand he holds a long staff ornamented with a dry white skull. The skull symbolizes his ability to subjugate all vicious spirits and demons in the three realms of existence.
On the crown of our Chuchepa Mahakala sculpture are featured the five skulls symbolizing the transmutation of the five poisons into the five transcendent wisdoms. Also, his face has a fierce countenance and it displays three eyes signifying his knowledge of the past, present and future. Additionally, he stands inside of the flames of pristine awareness that consume all neurotic mental states.
