Standing Avalokiteshvara Statue Features:
Our standing statue of Avalokiteshvara depicts him wearing the crown and jewels of a bodhisattva surrounded by a beautifully engraved frame. He displays the Varada “gift giving” mudra with his right hand and the Abhaya “protection” mudra with his left. Additionally, he holds the stem of a lotus flower in between the index finger and thumb of his left hand. The lotus grows up his arm and blossoms over his left shoulder. The blossoming lotus flower represents the fruits of enlightenment for those who follow the Dharma path.
Amitabha Buddha is engraved on Avalokiteshvara’s crown to show their close affiliation. Avalokiteshvara is also depicted with the third eye of wisdom between the brows on his forehead.
