Wrathful Vajrapani Statue Features

Our wrathful Vajrapani statue wears the crown adorned with five skulls. These skulls carry the dual representation of the five aggregates and also the five poisons. The five poisons are anger, greed, delusion, pride and jealousy. However, the 5 poisons have been converted to the nectars of transcendent wisdom.

Additionally, the five aggregates are material form, feeling, perception, mind formations and consciousness which have been pacified and subdued. This is represented by their depiction in skull like form on the crown of Vajrapani.  Furthermore, Vajrapani is depicted with the 3 eyes which represent knowledge of the past, present and future.

In his right hand our Vajrapani statue wields the battle symbol of ancient India known as the vajra. The vajra is a Sanskrit word that has the dual meaning of diamond or thunderbolt. It symbolizes the power of virtue to eliminate all negativity and remove all obstacles from the spiritual realization of devotees.

Our statue depicts the flames of pristine awareness that burn around Vajrapani. Additionally, Vajrapani was the protector and guide of the original Buddha. He is a prominent feature of Mahayana, Vajrayana and Tibetan Buddhism. However, he is also referred to as a deity in the Pali Canon.

Last but not least, our Vajrapani statue is a embodiment of the Buddha’s spiritual power. Vajrapani is often depicted alongside Manjushri (Buddha’s wisdom) and Avalokitesvara (Buddhas immense compassion). Click here to learn more about Vajrapani.
