Beautiful Amitabha Statue Features:
Amitabha Buddha sits in full lotus pose on top of a single lotus pedestal. A lotus flower is a very significant symbol in Buddhism because the lotus rises above the murky pond to blossom in the pure air and sunshine. This is a metaphor for devotees using diligent practice to rise above the sea of samsara to achieve supreme enlightenment. Therefore, the lotus makes a perfect symbol for impeccable virtue.
The Dhyana mudra is also known as the “meditation” mudra. It is depicted with the right hand on top of the left hand resting in the lap. Both palms are facing straight up. This is used by Buddhists because it enhances concentration during meditation.
All devotees are welcome in Amitabha’s pure land – Sukhavati. Devotees simply need to say his name 10 times or recite the Amitabha mantra. Sukhavati is the most sought after of all the pure lands. Indeed, it is a land of sonorous and visual delights. Click here to learn more about Amitabha Buddha.
