Our Nepali master artisan created our Dorje Sempa sculpture with the jewelry and crown of a bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of the statue with turquoise or red stones. The color turquoise is of special significance in Buddhism and meditation on the color red will transmute the poison of attachment into the wisdom of discernment.
Furthermore, our statue was fully gilded with 24K gold using the fire gilding method. As a result, the statue will remain tarnish free indefinitely with proper care. Additionally, the shine and deep golden luster of the statue will last for many lifetimes.
Symbolism of our Dorje Sempa Sculpture
Our golden Dorje Sempa sculpture is depicted holding the vajra in his right hand and the ghanta (bell) in his left hand. These symbols are highly associated with Dorje Sempa. This is because the ghanta (bell) represents the attribute of wisdom and the vajra symbolizes the attribute of compassion. The joining of compassion and wisdom is the symbol of enlightenment.
Furthermore, Dorje Sempa sits in the full lotus pose on top of a double lotus pedestal. The lotus flower is very symbolic because it rises above the murky pond water to blossom in the clean air above. As a result, dedicated Buddhist practitioners are encouraged to rise above the sea of suffering. If so, they accumulate wisdom which can eventually lead to enlightenment.
