Our Nepali master artisan created our beautiful gold gilded Vajrasattva statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. The crown and jewels have also been embedded with special stones. This Vajrasattva statue will wear the adornments well to inspire all those who lay their eyes on the statue.

In addition, the gold finish was applied with the traditional fire gilding method. At the request of the buyer, the statue was imbued with a low luster, rich golden hue. In further benefit, the sculptor created the statue using the traditional lost wax sculpting method. As a result, it is of the same monastic quality as the statues found in Tibetan monasteries over many centuries.

Furthermore, our gold gilded Vajrasattva statue sits in full lotus pose, while in his right hand he holds the Vajra. The vajra is the Buddhist symbol for compassion and skillful means, it is also a masculine symbol. In his left hand he holds feminine symbol for wisdom, the ghanta bell. The eternal joining of compassion and wisdom will allow one to obtain supreme enlightenment.

Gold Gilded Vajrasattva Statue is the “Subtle Body of Limitless Form”

Depending on the geographical region, a Vajrasattva statue is considered to be both a Bodhisattva (Mahayana) and also a Buddha (Tibetan Buddhism). Vajrasattva is described as a “subtle body of limitless form”. Therefore, he can theoretically appear as any form necessary to relieve the suffering of sentient life. Additionally, the body of Vajrasattva is known as “Sambhogakaya” which is one of the 3 Buddha bodies that form the three parts of the Trikaya.

Although Vajrasattva carries an esoteric meaning he is generally considered to be the crown ruler of all the Buddha families and mandalas. Therefore, Vajrasattva is associated with purification and compassion. Click here to learn more about the origins of our gold gilded Vajrasattva statue.
