Our Tibetan bhumpa set was hand crafted from white metal alloy by the artisans of Patan, Nepal. These ceremonial items were also embedded with semiprecious stones. As a result, the high quality craftsmanship is evident in the fine engravings that adorn these ceremonial vases.
Each bhumpa serves a different purpose during the consecration ceremony. During the ceremony, the first bhumpa is the “chief” vase and the second bhumpa serves as the “action” vase. As such, the chief vase stays on the altar for ceremonial effect and the action vase is used for dispensation of holy water during the ceremony. This Tibetan bhumpa set can be used for purification of Buddha statues, thangkas, people, objects or buildings.
