Additionally, White Tara is also known as “Cintachakra” which is the Sanskrit word for “wish fulfilling wheel”. If devotees faithfully recite the White Tara mantra she will grant them whatever they desire including long life and health.
White Tara is naturally playful and encourages devotees to not take their Dharma practice too seriously. She is also an ardent feminist and the Tara Bodhisattva has chosen not to accept Buddhahood until there are more female Buddhas.
Indeed, this White Tara thangka depicts a special deity who is believed to glow with the brightness of a thousand white moons. However, her most alluring aesthetic attribute is her 7 eyes. As a result, all of her thoughts and actions are imbued with wisdom and virtue. Additionally, she monitors the suffering of all sentient life to provide assistance. Her seven eyes have resulted in another name for her – “Seven Eyed”.
